Heath Zenith's HZ-4192-WH Six-Sided Aluminum Motion Security Light is a motion sensing light disguised to look exactly like a standard wall mounted light. The light aids home security by tricking approaching or passing objects or intruders into thinking a startled homeowner has turned on the lights to investigate what's going on outside, even if they aren't. The light is also great for welcoming guests to your home, a late night patio BBQ, or just being able to see the steps in front of you. The light's motion sensor has a working detection range of up to 30 feet with a 180° sensing angle that is adjustable for different settings. The motion sensing light can save you up to 80% more energy than standard decorative outdoor lights because the automatic turning on and off feature ensures that you don't leave the lights on accidently for prolonged times. The light is ENERGY STAR approved, so you know you're getting the most efficient, decorative, and functional, lighting available.
The light features DualBrite technology to ensure that only a minimal amount of necessary light is being used when motion is not being sensed, and a patented photo-control system ensuring nighttime operation. If constant light is needed, the manual override mode allows the light to function as a switch-controlled light for constant on, dusk-to-dawn lighting.
DualBrite is a patented Heath/Zenith technology that provides energy saving two-level lighting operating at half power until motion is detected and full power lighting when motion is detected. DualBrite provides soft accent lighting beginning at dusk. When motion is detected, the light automatically switches to full bright security lighting for a pre-selected amount of time (1, 5 or 10 minutes). The light will then automatically return to accent mode (50% power). Accent lighting will begin at dusk and can be pre-selected to stay on for 3 hours, 6 hours or until dawn.
A Rotatable Motion Sensor is found on all Heath/Zenith lanterns with 180° motion detection. Sensors can be rotated left or right (approximately 90°) to best fit the detection area needed.
Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. The goal of the program is to help save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Regulations on maximum light wattage, motion control and lumens per watt are a few of the key criteria for Energy Star outdoor lighting products.
